The location is perfect for what we wanted to do. This historic hotel is breath taking!!! We asked for a refrigerator and it was promptly brought to us. Thanks so much:)
The elevator door closes very quickly. Got separated from my friend..... but it was so funny. He said he went up twice before he was able to get off. LOL
I was treated horribly by the Reasurant on site. Ordered Room service to save time so I could make my flight and no food ever came . I then went to Reasturant to pick up order only to be told they never put it in . horrible!
like upgrades to restrooms and air condtioning was much better than the last time I visted and stayed thier.
Immaculately clean, inviting and quietly luxurious
I liked very much the building, the achitecture and the wide spaces where you can relax and enjoy
Good location, good price, clean rooms, quiet.
Great location. Good security. Near good musuems and good places to eat. Excellent value for very affordable price. Friendly, helpful staff. It will be my home in El Paso when I visit the city in the future.
The staff was friendly and willing to help. Hotel was exceptionally clean! Room was large & beds comfy with lots of great pillows. Heavy comforter to keep you warm. The Tiffany glass is worth seeing!!!!!!!!!!! This is an historic hotel and it has been cared for in most areas but does have it's problems. Owned by a chain from Mexico
It took about an hour to check in as the clerk was inexperienced, hard to understand and very ineffcient! The hotel had not made the arrangements for a wheel chair and handycapped as asked for in the reservation. The room was an ice box in Feb the first night and an oven the next 2 nights. The hotel is beautiful, but would think twice before I stay there again. Let's put it this way... It's a grand old dame that has kept up appearances in the public areas, but has failed to change house coats for 35 years upstairs in the guest only areas. The bathrooms need an overhaul and serious update. A dripping faucet kept us awake a lot. The beds where comfy and room nice & large.Getting luggae to and from room was an ordeal. No bellhops! The food was over priced and unless you like expensive gourmet (Over $100 per person for full meal) in a freezer or very hot and spicey in the family restuarant, there are no other choices available. The help doesnot know the difference from a dinner fork and a salad fork, some tables had spoons others didn't, etc. resturant service was none existant, had to set ourselves, get our on water and yell for service. Bad experience all the way around.
1912 Historical Buliding
Location; close to where I needed to go. Airport shuttle was efficient and saved money.
There is not a lot happening around the hotel during the weekend. A dj on the roof of neighboring club on Saturday night seemed to be the only activity in the neighborhood.
Roof terrace and pool although needs updating. Gym although some eqipment not in working order and small weights missing. No plug stoppers on sinks or tub. Loved being near museum and historic aspect of hotel.
Room was not ready when I checked in at 4:30 pm and was placed in another room in a different floor. Room furniture is out of date as well as paint and decoration. The hotel is only counting on its history which is being eaten up by it's poor quality today.
Beautiful old hotel.
front desk. No response from manager after complaint of an all-night rooftop party across the street that kept us up until midnight. Front desk simply said that they don't know when they schedule their parties. Perhaps they could find out and not rent rooms on that side of their hotel.
We arrived with a reservation for two rooms. At 5:00 pm they finally had the second room available and it was a smoking room. After a day in the sun with grandchildren we arrived back only to find housekeeping never came and we had no clean towels. Was told the Manager would call us and never received a call. When we asked about having the room cleaned the next day the front desk was rude. Will never stay again or recommend this hotel to anyone. If you want to see "the dome" stay at a place with good customer service and walk over there to take in that sight.
Beautiful hotel and the Dome Bar is very nice to have a drink in; our room was lovely & spacious & quiet; wifi good. Restaurant staff attentive & polite; excellent location for downtown areas, including walking to Paseo del norte.
We felt that a hotel of this size & class could have had another restaurant on site other than the small 'cafe' restaurant available. The food though to 'chef standard' was not as well cooked as we would have liked..and we left with the feeling that this small restaurant seemed to promise more than it could deliver.
