nice facility ,nice amenities, very pleasant staff in the dining facility

    The lobby

Everything on the room was old and out dated, it desperately needs renovations. Tv was old, no water bottles or candy bar, pay per view didn't work. The building and lobby makes you think it's a luxury hotel, but the rooms are budget quality. I would never stay there again.

  • Couple

The room was pretty nice, we enjoyed our stay and had a nice rest at the hotel.

The staff is excellent and tries very hard to please.

The hotel is very old and rundown, and not because it is an historic hotel. Many historic hotels are very well done. This one is in desperate need of a makeover. The rooms are large, but too sparsely furnished to be comfortable. There is no desk or chair in the rooms - just a bed and tv. The tv doesn't move in the armoire, so you must sit on the bed to see it. There are no closets, just armoires. The tv is old and gets few channels without interference. The carpeting, bed linens, towels, furniture are all very worn and need to be replaced. Lampshades are cracked. There is little light in the room, but adequate natural light from windows. There is no vending or ice on each floor, no fridge, no snack food. There is a coffeemaker and ancient hair dryer. There is one food and one soda vending machine in the lobby. There is room service, and the food is adequate, but it is a very limited menu with sandwiches, akin to a 2 or 3 star hotel. Buttons on the phone in the room do not work. I had to call the front desk to reach room service. Two of the elevators stank of vomitus, and another unknown family in the elevator with me plugged their noses. My room was relatively clean, but the sink dripped, had no plunger, and the bathroom floor was old concrete that had been painted over. The hotel has potential but needs serious help. It is similar to very old European hotels, but without the charm or ambience. This is not even close to a 4-star hotel - maybe a 2-star. It is not for business travelers. If you want any of the normal amenities found at a typical 3-star, I would recommend staying somewhere else. The staff is great and tries extra hard, probably because they know they have a lot of problems.

Great old-style hotel architecture. Very nice bar

Stupid stuff! Took 65$ deposit for one night and forgot tell me about it, no one document about deposit!!! I asked 3 times at chek in and chek out they said no word about deposit! I was surprised wheg get the sms from my visa! Theirs answer oh sir...we are sorry we forgot about it, assholes

  • Family with children

It was too noisy at the front desk because of a live show at the bar.

The location was great. I was impressed with the decor. The bar and the food were great, not to mention the price was good for my budget.

It's a comparatively nice building with a decent restaurant in the neighborhood. Certain rooms are good, other just so. In the latter category fell my room this past Tuesday. The worst were the synthetic sheets - they really should be cotton. $115 plus tax is still an acceptable price but I've had better rooms at the Camino for around $80.The staff is friendly and helpful.

The inequality of rooms, see above.

The hotel is old but I had a wonderfull time there... I ll come again... Ramon was really nice!!!!!

  • Older travelers

We checked into the hotel and had to cut our stay and move out of the hotel as it was disgusting; filthy, smelling of mildew, cold temperature below 58 degrees in the room. This was the most awful experience. Do not recommend or please delete this hotel from your list of hotels.

That it was right of the I 10E freeway

Check in, room was ok, water in room was brown, very weird energy in room 722. Dome bar was less than mediocre.

  • Family with children

I like the location, that is very near my favorite restaurant in El Paso, Cafe Central. The lobby and the bar is beautiful.

The hotel has potential to be so much more elegant and appealing. The pool area is sad and looks poor. Can use beautiful plants, the ones there are dead and turned out to be fake! The seats have no cushions and getting service there I am not sure if it is possible. It's not set up for it. The rooms are nice and comfortable but the bathrooms in the room are not. I also needed some personal things from the store in the hotel but it was always closed.

Potentially a great place. Needs refurbishing.

Lots of disorganization about the reservation price. I had to prove I was offered a particular rate at the check in, and on check out I had to dispute a rate charged with the clerk who had it at the normal rate. I'd made the res online and was given the rate for that and had it as an email. That had to be checked on and confirmed. This online rate, by the way, was not the conference rate I was told I'd be given over the phone by a reservation clerk, though only $5 a day more, so I paid and left.

Based on my experience with the hotel, which was a horrible one, I'd have to say the location was the best aspect. It is downtown so it is close to the freeway and has stores/restaurants within walking distance. But it was very difficult to find/navigate to -- better signage required?

I don't know if my list will fit so I will focus on the worst aspects. On the day we arrived the hotel had a large bar association function so the staff was overwhelmed, the restaurants were packed, and we were forced to find dinner elsewhere. As we approached our room, we noticed that the elevators (multiple) and hallways smelled like urine. Our room also smelled very funky! The air conditioning was impossible to control, the lamp between our beds didn't work at all, every other tv channel was snow/unwatchable, my bed didn't have a fitted sheet or properly sized mattress pad so they kept bunching up all night, the bed comforter and linens were cheap and uncomfortable, we could hear every toilet flush and hotel keys opening doors all night on a Tuesday night(!!), they didn't pick up our breakfast room service order, there was a large living pincher bug in our bathtub, there was no hot water in our shower, we had to plug our phone into the wall to complain and cancel our breakfast order, and the rooftop pool was freezing and unusable. When I spoke with the manager, Maria, to complain, she told me she would refund my room charge. I have yet to receive the refund even though I've called to follow up with her. It was awful!!!!
